*The Application*

1. What is your character name/class/race?
Flyckster/Warrior(prot)/Tauren

2. Link your Armory profile and screenshot of your ui. LOG OUT IN YOUR PVE GEAR. If your armory does not represent your raiding gear set-up, do not expect a quick or meaningful reply. Please explain the extra detail that may not be displayed by your Armory and that you feel is important to note. Why are you specced the way that you currently are? Again, be detailed as this will be the most analyzed section of your application.

Flyckster's UI (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b76/jingle4me/AppforGC.jpg)

3. List any WWS parses you may have.
None presently. Not applicable to recent activities. I am prepared to utilize this function as soon as there is an opportunity.

4. List your typical playtime for each day of the week. If you list your /played playtime as your lone response prepared to be backhanded.
Reliable play times are Mon - Fri 6:15 p.m.<> 1:00 a.m. Server Time. Its not uncommon for most people to sign off for the night and back on in the morning to still find me on. Weekends are OPEN for play completely. Barring any extreme circumstances like my child's birth or emergency... (i might be able to sneak the laptop... so hit me up) @_@

5. Why are you interested in joining GC, and what are your goals once guilded?
Now this is the real meat of the moment. Why? With the inclusion of some small personal desires. This will also play into another question below. From the time I began playing I have continually pushed for growth as a character. I am a committed person who desires to be among a crowd of no less. For lack of a better term I think I am an elitist, with humility.
Having a fair understanding of the goings on in GC, I understand I will not be going to SWP. My goal is to work as a rookie/raider to earn full raider status, and to develop my skills in Black Temple to serve as a tool in the tanking arsenal that is GC.

6. Are you on Korgath? If not what server?
Yes I am on Korgath, presently tagged Band of Brothers, with a different "B", its a place holder just for a Guild bank to store all the materials and supplies I have been preparing.

7. Make up your own question, then answer your question.
7.1- Can you handle criticism, especially if it does not come off as constructive the first time?
Yes I welcome any and all feedback, I'm 26 and been around the block a few times. I can take it.

8. Detail your MMO background. Detail your raiding expertise or lack there of (Direct most of this towards WoW, though if you have an exceptional story or background from another game please share). If you were in a major guild (top 3 of your team/server) in the past or recent, please detail your role within the guild and why you left. Even if you were not in a “major” guild please list the most recent 2 guilds and your role and why you left. DO NOT make a list of the last 20 guilds you have been a member of. Detail anything that you feel would help give us insight to your value as a raider.
Quick list, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, DAoC, some others here and there lost to the sands of time and my mind. Now my wow experience is long and distinguished, just like my uh... sword..(ty top gun) I have been raiding with Band Of Brothers from the release of Molten Core. During which time we were on Dunemaul fighting for #1 Horde spot through all progression up to Nax. Durring which time BoB was going through another depression and losing players rapidly. After toughing it out I was recruited by Prometheus of Destromath who at the time was in contention for top 10 World Wide Progression in Nax. Maintained Full officer status In Band Of Brothers, and as understood. A progression "Raider" position With Prometheus.

9. List references and means of contact. If you have any friendships/ingame experience with current GC members please elaborate.
This might not be as long, but its still distinguished.
By far the most influential reference is going to have to be TAUNTO aka Neil. He closely observed my progress in the weeks leading up to this application.
I have also had the chance to run a couple heroics and a ZA this past week with Mr. Warglaives

10. Floyd or Zeppelin?
Like which one would I rather ride? Yeah I'll take the Zeppelin please.
Over the hills and far away.

11. How old are you? What do you do for a living/study/smoke?
I'm 26 years old and work as a Corporate account Executive.

12. Were you ever an officer or obtained a leadership position of your past guild(s), if so explain your role.
As I stated above I was an officer in Band of Brothers for the entire tour of Duty, completing everything from raid leading to DKP, and personal and non personal issues of the guild.

13. Do you have internet reliability? Disconnecting frequently is not acceptable for raiding.
Solid 12mb/2mb connection with wireless redundancy.

14. Do you know why polar bears don’t eat penguins? And if they did, would they really drink Coke?
Not a clue and not going to try and bullshit my way through.

15. Are you the original owner of your account? If not explain. No, this isn’t a trap and using a friends account or how ever you acquired the character does not void you from joining and raiding. However, if it discovered that you falsely claimed ownership of the character you are applying with, you will be removed from raiding capacity with the current or any other characters from other accounts.
No not this account. I took over the account a while ago from another early Band Of Brothers Raider who just lost his desire for the game.

16. Have you ever had an online relationship with the opposite sex. Did you ever fly to meet them or visa versa? Was this relationship in WoW? Did it end? If not why are you letting it persist? Does she or he know it's a dead end? Have you ever wanted to have an online relationship, if so with whom? If you answered no or n/a to all these questions proceed to question 17.
No, No, No.

17. Attunements: Are you revered with all heroic factions? If you are part of the free-bee TK/BT/Hyjal generation, what is your raiding expierence?
Yes Revered With all, and I have the Lady's Vial. Need Kael's.

Just wanted to fill in some details and context for this application.

Mark told me a few weeks ago that he really wanted to get into GC. I told him that most people with a shot at getting in are in T6, and that his gear was nowhere close to what GC would need, but gave him a list of gear to get that represented the best gear available that he could reasonably get while still unguilded.

I expected this to take longer, but in just a couple of weeks, he's gotten nearly everything on the list. He made the goggles, farmed the badges to get the chest, legs and belt, farmed the rep to get the neck, organized a VR pug to get the shoulders, organized several Gruul pugs to get the shield, ran ZA to get the weapon and boots and heroic MgT to get the trinket. (He's also run some Hyjal pugs to get the cloak, but it has not dropped yet.)

All in all he's made some impressive progress in a very short time which speaks to his dedication, and with the availability of this gear outside of a guild and the quality of the badge gear, his overall stats are about where heavy raiders would have been not too long ago. (If anyone is wondering why he still has a blue cape, it's because that blue is still a good, balanced item and I told that would probably be the last item to upgrade if the Hyjal one never drops.)

He's been asking dozens of questions every day for weeks about tanking and strategies and fights, obsessing about details, which is I think one of the better qualities you could ask for in a tank. He's also very patient and very serious about the game, and comes about as prepared as any I have seen.

Deadheadd, your thoughts? I've been focusing on gear and theory with him, but you've run with him a few times.

One other thing: He knows that we have a slew of geared warriors in the guild already and that if he got in he'd more than likely have a good deal of benchwarming duty.

Yeah Mr. Warglaive sounded too plain, so I waited to pluralize it.

After reading this application the first time I didn't wish to comment because it seems you are incredibly under-geared for this guild. Myself and most people in the guild are more than willing to jump on people that app with inadequate gear because most of the time they also post a sub-par application to go along with it.

Your application is well written and formatted, carries a serious tone about your objectives and also provides thorough answers to the questions asked. Kind of throws a wrench in the works when it comes to any issues with your gear. :P

To be realistic, The Burning Crusade is coming to a close and GC has cleared all but one boss before being able to say "we win" a second time. Gearing up someone who has little knowledge of the previous 2 instances before sunwell would be kind of odd and risky, honestly.

When it comes down to it though, you might be better off finding another guild to progress in for a while that is currently working on tempest keep / hyjal than trying to get into GC only to be asked to do a Gruul/Mag/ZA once in awhile. That way, you could get some quality (i hope) raid hours in under your belt. Then maybe when WotLK arrives, you can app again when we are starting the fresh content with a clean slate and see what happens. Note, I'm not saying "you're in" but you would probably have a much better chance then vs now.

Just wanted to add two more points:

1) Although it's not the typical gear for each slot that you see, his overall tanking stats are really not bad. His belt, legs, chest and trinket are T6, boots, weapon, shield, helm, shoulders and thrown are T5. Overall he has over 16K health and 40% avoidance unbuffed without really stacking either stam or dodge or anything -- if anything he's stacking threat, as I had suggested he do in order to make sure he could stay ahead of our dps. With the high amount of hit and expertise he has along with five items with SBV on them, I don't think his gear would hold him back on that.

2) I know most of you don't know him, but I think the quality of his application gives a preview of how good of a teammate he would be through his attitude and professionalism about the game, and that's important now as well as later as we head toward expansion.

If he gets in, here's my prediction of what would happen: We'd have another tank who's always on who doesn't mind tanking non-progression content and going on a bear run every three days. He could start in the easiest fights in BT, (most of which we could sleep through with 20 people anyway) and pick up some loot we'd just be DEing anyway. Most of the fights in there are very easy to OT, and Flyck is the type to actually read up on every aspect of a fight and watch several videos, not just come to a fight and expect to be shown everything. After a few runs everyone would be comfortable enough with his threat and survivability to put him in the mix with the rest of the OTs.

Yes, Flyck is a buddy of mine, but I hope that doesn't count too much against him or water down my points too much. :)

Wow, thanks Bunnay for the deeper look. I respect your initial view on my joining. I had tried to keep the application as detailed as possible without running on and telling a life story.

My BT/Hyjal experience comes from my rogue. I'm versed well in almost all classes abilities and specific raid functions for them.

I take pride knowing things outside of my realm, but as an officer of the past I needed to know all of the things affecting each class. I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm not one to be content in a bubble. I want to push harder.. Things that say you cant, only make me say "wanna bet?"

Now stay with me on this one.... Applying to GC is like a raid boss to me. Its my Mu'ru. I've had many ingame Mu'ru's. I've done the preparation (never enough for any boss)
Submitting the app is the "Pull".....

It would be weird if If you pulled a boss and he dropped loot. I expected to sunder something and shield bash a couple times.

How did you feel when Mu'ru went down? Would anything stop you?

P.S. Thanks so much for being my OT Neil.

A nice looking app but that gear is pretty bad =/

So the message about the gear is understood, you would like to see much better gear.

Do any of the Warriors in GC have any comments about where I'm at versus what is available to me and where you feel might be my strongest points. I know my gear but I would also like to hear what the people that master my class think about where I am at.

I will also be continuing to form The Hyjal Pugs I have been running wich have been growing in quality with more an more better players seeing the results of the raids I have lead. And becoming willing to invest their time into the raids.

Anyone still looking to finish off your Hyjal rep is welcome to come. Not to mention that I will be seeking any other way of attaining the remaining gear.
