Mumble Channels
Channels
Mumble's default channel sorting is similar to an operating system's layout of files and directories. Sub-directories are sorted and displayed before files within a directory. In the same way, users (files) appear after any sub-channels (sub-directories) inside a channel. While it makes sense after knowing about this, it is pretty annoying after using ventrilo or teamspeak for years when you first join a mumble server and everyone looks to be in the bottom channel. Instead of re-adjusting, you may want to do the following:
- Open mumble and go to Configure>Settings
- At the bottom left of the window, make sure "Advanced" is checked.
- In the left side menu go to User Interface
- Under the section 'Channel Tree': Set Expand to "All", and check "Users above Channels"
You have to restart mumble for this to take effect, but this should make it look like teamspeak and ventrilo with users/channels sorting.
