Thought it might be nice to have a post that would show a natural progression of farming areas on Inferno from A1 to A4. I am still currently farming the butcher and quests leading upto him to get some extra gold and improve gear. I am not really sure where to go from this point as I am ready to move on, but not 100% sure where I should go. So if anyone wants to post some decent farming areas and we can organize them here that would be awesome!
If you have cleared to magdha starting at lair of the witch skips shatterbone then you work backwards farming mobs for NV then go fight magdha.
Its the end of the third quest, City of Blood. It puts you right outside the gates where you have to free the 8 prisoners and find her entrance.
Is it just me or is it hard to find elite packs before maghda's lair takes me about 20 minutes to find 3-4
Oh did not know that, thanks for the tip. I was just roaming around in the different areas. Now if only the servers can come up.
Act 2, Inferno. Ancient Path waypoint. Keep making games until you find the treasure goblin, which is never past the 2nd flight of stairs. Repeat.
So if End of ACT 1 better to solo farm than ACT 2? ACT 1 you get Jailer + Boss for yellows. Seems like you can do it in under 30 minutes easily with not even great gear. ACT 2 you'd just have Maghda for yellows and takes a lot longer. If you had better gear you'd probably be farming something in ACT 3.
Ugh, everything in Act 3 is horrid. I need way better gear to farm it. That said Sheryl and I did Cydaea and then Joe came in and helped us with Azmodan. Then Sheryl and I did Iskatu in Act 4, and I also solo'd him again after that. Probably not worth the effort. I wish the AH would stay up so my shit would sell and I could afford a new weapon.
When you are able to handle Act 3, you should work your way up to the Siegebreaker fight. There's a checkpoint just before you fight him, leave the game from there. Resume the game and you will spawn outside the Siegebreaker fight, just take a few steps to the south/southwest and there's a ~50% chance a random dungeon will be there called The Underbridge. In there you can usually find a resplendant chest and/or a treasure goblin, and there will always be an elite pack. A big big plus is that you have Tyrael with you and he hits like a truck, and sometimes he will be able to block them off in a doorway so that you can easily kill them with something like Deadly Reach. After you kill the butcher, you can leave game and then resume game. This puts you right outside butchers door. There's like a 50% chance that a champion pack is in his hallway leading to the boss port. Good place to farm champion packs if you don't care for NV stacks. Probably not worth it considering ACT 1 NV farming is a joke and quick.
Oh look a goblin was right there in that hallway that gave me 60 INT, 75 VIT, 48 All resist bracers. Score!
Me Rusko and Lumi have been farming 5 champs to get NV and then going to inferno whimsyshire. The rares are hard in there but the clouds drop good loot. Have gotten a 700 dps wand, 1100dps staff and rusko got a really nice rare xbow with like 1300-1400dps. On another note, I also have 150% MF gear if anyone wants me to come sit in your game. I come with a whopping 8k dps and 19k hp.
