Resists are your friend. The game doesn't tell you, but you have an innate resist reduction every new difficulty you go into (especially since inferno is higher level than you). I started out doing inferno just going off the fact that I had 27k hp and 65% reduction from armor and a ton of dodge. Sure I could take mobs down semi easily, but tonight I decided to try something else. I stacked my arcane resist up to 534 with my mantra then set the passive to allow it to cover everything. Needless to say I went from getting hit for 15-18k to being able to block hits entirely with my shield. Sadly though I new to get better gear because act two is still ridiculous and mobs are hitting for 14k with that much.

818 resistances with barb shout. like 545ish without and 30k hp. Bees hit for 5k each. npnp.

    For spanko.

Also, unchecking Elective mode after setting up a build locks your abilites, preventing them from being dragged off

And this is what inferno is like for everyone not there yet.

    How is that fun!?

That's the boss I did with Sheryl on Hell, and she died at the beginning so I kited the whole time and only used Locus Swarm and killed everything.

Why the hell is that WD not spamming dire bats...he seemed beyond useless
  10. Myrx Guild Member

Why the hell did he not Locust Swarm them ... they would have died a million times faster.
  11. dox Guild Member

I only tried locusts a few times, the range seemed really short.

It's extremely short, but you can just Spirit Walk to them and cast it. Then it chains to every single one of them, and most of the new spawns. Spirit Walk -> Soul Harvest -> Fire Locusts while kiting with Grasp is how I did that fight. Still leaves you with 2 slots where you can put Big Bad Voodoo and whatever else you want. Changing your abilities for this fight is fine since you wont have Nephalem Valor yet.

Inferno is legitimately dumb. There's a difference between something being really hard and something that you just can't do anything about. The bosses are fun but some of these rare packs are just the dumbest shit ever. Hurr durr Fire Chains, Fast, Teleport, Knockback.

I had Fire Chains, Fast, Vampiric, Jailer last night -_-.

Well when you introduce random combinations of mobs and abilities then you can expect certain combinations to be more or less impossible. But some are also trivial. It's not as if they are going to test all the mob and ability combinations to see if any are ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if some abilities got nerfed.

I'm only in NM but I had a Fire Chain/Vortex on those really fast creatures in Act II (imps maybe?). They flew over the screen and I never could outrun them. Worst combo i've experienced so far.

Nice to see that idiot wizard not know that you can remove buffs (Archon) by clicking it off. And these people are killing stuff in inferno?!?!
  18. Joeschmo Might also be toughcack

Inferno actually isn't that bad, especially if you're a wizard lololoololool nerf

Idk it's annoying. I love having two sets of gear. One for soloing and one for group play. /wrists. And then the whole these affixes are stupid and blah blah blah. It's dumb but all I can do is keep trying at it. And the whole iskatu video was because even on hell he took a stupid amount of dps to burn down before being overwhelmed by the adds.
