What was your strat for dealing with your clone as a Wizard? I CC'd mine into oblivion while darting it to death. I don't think Wizard has this level of CC.
You can get 3 clones as a wizard. There is a general strategy but I'll go into more detail after for each type of clone. You only have to worry about one type of clone for the entirety of P2. The general strategy is to have Teleport and slowtime up for each clone (it is imperative to know when your clones will be coming up). For me it was 100%, 50%, and 25%. For the first clone, the second you get control of your toon, cast slowtime and hydra, and get ready to teleport. The moment you see a red health bar, teleport the opposite way. 1) Twister (easiest) The easiest to deal with. He spawns kinda far away, and it takes a while for his twister to get off. You put your hydra and just run and shoot magic missiles. Obviously don't run into a twister. But besides that, you can actually run and DPS without worrying about anything because twisters can't really surprise you. 2) Lightning bolt + Meteor The lightning bolts hurt and they will almost one shot you (get you to very low). The only time you need to worry is right when they spawn because they spawn very close to you. Sometimes you will be hit but you should be able to tele right away or pot and tele. For some reason, slow time doesn't work right away on stuff like this so you still need to time it properly. 3) Venom Hydra + Arcane Orb (hardest) They spawn on top of you and shoot an orb that hits for like 39582085902835k. you can't get hit by that orb. Once you avoid that first orb though, it becomes really easy with slow time. What I recommend (with all of them) is figure out the timing between Diablo disappearing off the minimap and them spawning. You will die a few times before you get the hang of it. Also, kite away from his own venom. It stays a while and you don't want to know how many times I got to 10% P2 only to run by what I wrongly think is my venom hydra. Summary: - Hydra + Slowtime the second big D disappears. - Teleport the second you see a red health bar. Preferably away from said red health bar. Fracture helps for taking a hit from lightning bolt clones, but arcane orb you are outta luck. Just put slow time and move in one direction, then tele back through the slow time. - Make sure when you kill the clone, kite away so that you aren't where Diablo disappeared. He goes back right where he left. So you don't want him spawning on you. So do note where he left. - Once you get away from the initial cast, you're good to go!
Inferno diablo is nothing though compared to soul rippers. I'd need to read a 300 page book to figure out how to not get raped by them.
wow shoosta... im sorry i doubted u... i just got monk to 60... and tried soloing Diablo i actually feel like its easier than soloing on DH.. but HOLY CRAP!!! IT IS SOOOOO SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah it's really simple it's just that all of your DPS is sustained and the biggest burst you have is 7-strided strike (most of the time) but that's normally a defensive cd.
Wow diablo was a joke. Killed it on my first attempt with my trash spec, 5 stack NV lol. Wizard Solo 6/17/2012
The game to be a faceroll until Act II inferno as a range. Not sure about melee but i think it gets harder alot earlier.
As melee my barb has like 930 res all and about 8k armor and 35k hp. I can literally stand there and kill any champion pack and boss in act I without moving. But in act 2 I get rolled by dudes in robes and by wasps that shoot bees and run from me. You don't really gain perspective for how challenging different parts of the game are until you play melee in inferno. On my WD I just run like hell from champs and dps them, but on my barb I charge in and beat them down.
